Trade Links from Kuwait Wins the B.I.D. Century International Quality ERA Award in Geneva
 
The presentation of the B.I.D. Century International Quality ERA Award was held in the city of Geneva. In recognition of business merit, and the commitment to quality, leaders from around the world were presented with a trophy that has come to be known as the "Oscar of the Business World." In `Geneva, a European hub for international relations, finance, and culture, company leaders from 59 countries gathered in the name of world-wide quality culture.
 
Trade Links was honored in Geneva before business leaders and representatives of the diplomatic corps from 59 countries. Before this international summit, Wilson Varghese, CEO of Trade Links, received a distinction given by B.I.D. to companies committed to quality, the Century International Quality ERA Award, from the President of Business Initiative Directions, Jose E. Prieto.
 
In recognition of the commitment to quality and utilization of cutting edge technology to spread quality culture, Trade Links was named winner of the 2011 B.I.D. Century International Quality ERA Award at the 13th Century International Quality ERA (CQE) Awards Ceremony in Geneva. From Kuwait, Wilson Varghese, CEO, stood before the diverse gathering to illustrate the achievements of Trade Links. B.I.D. presents this trophy to those companies from around the world that best adhere to excellence and innovation in their practices, putting quality first. That's why Trade Links took home the 2011 Century International Quality ERA Award - for its efforts toward constant change instead of just accepting the status quo.
 
This year, winners of the International B.I.D. Quality Award, granted in Geneva, included ALUNORTE - Alumina do Norte do Brasil S.A., the largest alumina refinery in the world, that as of 2008 has an annual production capacity of 6.26 million tons- 7% of the global alumina production. Joining them as winners was Franklin Electric, from Mexico, the world's largest manufacturer of submersible electric motors as well as one of the most important global providers of complete water and fueling systems. From its headquarters in the U.S., Franklin Electric's manufacturing facilities span Western and Eastern Europe, Africa, North and South America, and Asia.
 
Also awarded was CBA Kereskedelmi KFT, from Hungary. This prominent food retail chain with 3,357 stores in the country, and 3,895 abroad, has associations with food traders in 7 European countries and boasts 30,000 employees. By the end of 2010, CBA's capital stock was 600 million Euros and its gross sales exceeded 2.18 billion Euros; From Canada, Woodbine Entertainment Group is the top name in the country's entertainment industry. This multi-dimensional operations company provides fine-dining, sports-bar and teletheatre services, and is Canada's largest horse racing operator. Also awarded was one of the largest real estate developers in the Middle East, Sorouh Real Estate Company P.J.S.C., from the United Arab Emirates. With headquarters in Abu Dhabi, Sorouh's current mandate of projects in the UAE and abroad exceeds $5.6 billion USD.; Coal India Limited, the largest coal producing company in the world, also took home the Award. By 2010, this company had 397,138 employees and operated 471 mines.
 
Along with these top business leaders, Trade Links from Kuwait was honored before the Century International Quality ERA Award Convention and featured to the business world through graphic and digital media broadcasting coverage, for their noteworthy commitment to quality, excellence, and innovation. Wilson Varghese, CEO of Trade Links, took the stage before the other business leaders gathered from 59 countries, sharing the quality practices of Trade Links.
 
Winners in 2011, like Trade Links, serve as examples for other companies that wish to continuously progress in the ever changing, increasingly challenging, economic, technological, and business environments that this world has to offer. Companies that have been acknowledged by B.I.D. in the past include companies ranked on the Fortune 500 list: India's Reliance Industries & Reliance Energy (ranked 206 on a global scale); Indian Oil Corporation Limited (116); Korea Electric Power (245) and Beijing COFCO Plaza Development (398). Other firms worthy of mention include Turner Construction (USA); Plamex-Plantronics (USA); and giant from USA-Mexico, Franklin Electric. Other permanent members of the B.I.D. Hall of Fame include Viking Line (Finland); Alcoa Howmet (France); Haki (Sweden); Ansaldo Energy (Italy); Zepter (Austria); RAO-Unified Energy Systems (Russia); Als & Cachou-TBWA (France) and Tata Group (India).
